Before you start harnessing the power of a bit of hindsight take a little time to get your space and yourself ready. Journaling can be a really beautiful practice, so don’t rush it.

Pick a time where you are not going to be disrupted.

Create a special space. You could light a candle, make a brew or pour a glass of something special. Perhaps you go all in and make it really magical environment with some fresh flowers or adorn your space with things that mean something to you.

Get really comfy. Snuggle down in your favourite chair, cozy under a blanket, wrap up in your favourite oversized sweater or simply sit somewhere you can feel the sun on your skin.

Get your notebook, journal or that beautiful stationary out that you have been saving for the right moment and let your words flow.

There is no right or wrong way to journal.

You can write lists, doodle, make spider diagrams or create lyrical flowing pros and poems.

If you’re not sure how to begin try writing the first prompt down to get you and your ink moving... then just let the answer flow out. Try not to over think it or read back through until you have finished answering. This is for no ones eyes but your own... so don’t hold back.

Enjoy this time you are creating for yourself and I hope you find some clarity, peace or release in whatever shows up in your insights.
